There are several types of US military neckerchiefs, but this item is a rare piece that is not often seen on the market today. The soft, thin jersey material is 100% cotton and is characterized by its high absorbency. Soldiers used it as a scarf, and also as a bandana in hot and humid climates. It's thin and not very long, so it fits well even when casually wrapped around the neck, and can be worn all season. The edges are rolled and locked like a handkerchief to prevent fraying.
