A rich, smooth, and supple genuine Oshima tsumugi fabric in a dark brown color features a butterfly woven with a one-yuan style 7-maruki technique. The butterfly, with its dramatic transformation from caterpillar to pupa to beautiful adult, is a very auspicious and lucky pattern that symbolizes "rebirth," "longevity," and "growth." Its elegant form is also known as a symbol of "longevity" and "success in life." The butterfly is depicted in a large size. As this is an old Kobukusa, it has been stiffened with a core for a crisp finish. [Size] The traditional size of Kobukusa used in the Urasenke school of tea ceremony. Some people also use it in Kodo (incense ceremony). Finished size: Made with a template of 5 sun (15.2cm) x 5 sun 3 bu (16.3cm), but please allow for slight variations. [Sewing Method] Three sides are sewn, and the short side of 5 sun is a "wa" (folded edge). There are no knotting balls. ❤️ Since it is new, there is no crease in the center. When folding it in half, place the "wa" on the right side, choose your favorite side as the front, and fold it in half.
