He was naturally bright and intelligent, blessed with friends, and excelled in his studies. However, deep within his heart, he always yearned for God. One day, while participating in a procession of the Virgin Mary, he was deeply moved by her gaze, and he resolved to dedicate everything to God. He later entered the Passionist Order and received the religious name "Gabriel of Our Lady of Sorrows." His life of faith, even at a young age, was never rigid. He never lost his smile in his daily life, encouraged his companions, and cherished quiet prayer... He was a young man filled with such kindness. However, his life did not last long. He contracted tuberculosis and was called to heaven at the young age of 24. Even in the midst of his illness, he never lost his faith in the Virgin Mary and entrusted himself to God with a peaceful heart until the very end. His appearance left a deep impression on the hearts of many people, and he later came to be revered as the "patron saint of young people and students." His way of life, which involved believing while learning and finding hope even in suffering, continues to give courage to the younger generation today. And later, his spirit influenced a girl named Saint Gemma Galgani. Gemma is said to have prayed for Gabriel's intercession on her sickbed and received the grace of healing. His gentle guidance deepened her faith. After his death, Gabriel became known to people through his pure life and many miracles, and he was beatified in 1908 and canonized in 1920.
