A Thai souvenir duck kogo (incense container) in near-new condition, with a matching wooden box.
The lid of the box has a handwritten inscription by Sokan Horiuchi, the head of the Omotesenke school, and the lid of the kogo has a kao (signature).
Made in Thailand, the craftsmanship is a little rough compared to Japanese-made items, but the gold shines beautifully, and the bottom is finished with a hammered lacquer to prevent scratches.
There are no cracks or chips, but please forgive any scratches or imperfections in the craftsmanship.
The wooden box is in good condition.
Although it is a beautiful item, please understand that it has been stored privately.
