This is a single item crafted by an active carpenter outside of business hours, aiming to offer a modern yet Japanese-style Kumiko Andon (paper-covered lamp) made of domestic Japanese cypress at an affordable price. It's made using plenty of high-quality Japanese cypress, typically used for door and shoji frames, resulting in a luxurious piece. The price offered is calculated based on the cost of the materials used. Labor and processing costs are not included, so price negotiations are not possible. Please understand. If you would like to include processing costs, it would be an additional 60,000 yen or so. The reason for not including processing costs is that this is not a custom order. I create these lamps based on the lengths, sizes, shapes, Kumiko patterns, and lighting that come to mind each day without using drawings. Therefore, I will not make the same one again, and it will be a one-of-a-kind Andon. Due to the nature of the wood, using it in a room with heating or in direct sunlight will inevitably cause warping or twisting. We do not accept any claims related to these issues. The entire Andon uses domestic Japanese cypress, and you can enjoy the wonderful scent of the wood. As a bonus, we will include several bags of ultra-finished plane shavings from the same Japanese cypress as cushioning material, which can be used for deodorizing shoes, entryways, and toilets, or even in the bathtub when filling it with hot water for a simple Hinoki bath. Please make use of them. Cushioning material is attached to the legs to prevent scratches on the floor when used indoors, but please be aware that it may peel off. It goes well with Japanese-style rooms and old folk houses. Total length: 650mm, 170mm square Two sides feature diamond Kumiko, and the other two sides have a bamboo pattern made of Warlon paper. 1mm Warlon sheet is used behind the Kumiko for a certain level of durability.
