B-15 US Army Air Force This appears to be a B-15 flight jacket from the U.S. Army Air Force (the predecessor to the U.S. Air Force). This jacket has a cotton satin shell with a boa collar, lining, a pen pocket on the left sleeve, and a "U"-shaped zipper stop. It is believed to be from the WW2 era (1943-1944). The production period was only about 7 months, making it a rare item, and original examples rarely appear on the market. The fading of the decal, likely from actual combat use, is a result of aging that cannot be replicated in reproductions. It says ARMY AIR FORCES, and although I cannot be certain, it is believed to be from the Army Air Force. The lining has some holes as shown in the images. The zipper currently opens and closes smoothly without any damage.
