I saw someone wearing one in Tokyo at the Jamaica Festival and thought it was cute, so I looked it up. It's called a #babushka, and it seems like some are knitted, while others are made by wrapping a cloth scarf. It also seems similar to a #bonnet. Apparently, babushkas are worn on the head, over hats, or wrapped around the waist as an accent, making them a bit of a trendy item. That's what inspired me to try making my own babushka-inspired item. Mini Mini Babushka is the most compact size (see photos). Made with thin, lightweight Indian cotton and double gauze, it subtly adds a colorful accent around the face. The ribbon part is made of floral lace for a cute finish.
