Influenced by the Rococo style, the original pomegranate pattern was humorously transformed into an onion pattern. Beautiful cobalt blue pottery was created as "Meissen" in Germany and "Carlsbad Blue Onion" in the Czech Republic. Pottery production in the Czech Republic began in the late 18th century.
