This is a vibrant, blue single-layered Edo Komon kimono. It is dyed using a stencil of the character "心" (kokoro - heart/mind) by Living National Treasure Yujiro Nakamura. The signature on the 8th photo is located on the underside of the front panel, where it is not visible when worn. I took a close-up photo, so the color is washed out in the 8th photo. The 4th photo shows the color of the lining. The colors in photos 1 through 5 are closest to the actual color. It has never been worn and still has the basting stitches. As it is a single-layered kimono, it has a seat lining. The fabric is Hamachirimen crepe, the dye is plant-based, and the stencil is Ise Katagami by a Living National Treasure, making this a very luxurious item.
