It is a prayer rug with a well-structured mihrab design. Similar prayer rugs have been available before, but this one showcases the exquisite detail characteristic of city-style Baluch rugs. Its deeper, more subdued color palette and larger size make it ideal for placement in front of a sofa or beside a bed. As a 40-year-old vintage rug, it shows some signs of use and wear, but it is in good condition with no particularly noticeable stains, damage, or repairs. The pile is short, but the rug has a moist, oily texture. We have purchased these rugs from local sellers as having been cleaned, but please note that some sand or pile debris may remain. Also, occasionally, there may be nail marks from drying after cleaning, but these will blend in with use. Finally, regarding the rug itself, there is a characteristic wool smell. Measurements are taken near the center, but please understand that there may be errors due to the distortions inherent in hand-woven rugs, shrinkage from water cleaning, and color unevenness due to aging from plant-based dyes. These are also part of the charm of vintage rugs.
