It is a tribal rug from the Baluch people who live in Herat Province, Afghanistan. Originally, it was the face of a "khorjin," a saddlebag used to carry items on camels, which has been repurposed into a rug. The motif of swirling water ripples is captivating, and the decoration on the kilim end on one side is superb. The size is easy to handle, making it versatile for use on the floor or as a seat cover. Personally, I think it would also be nice to hang it on the wall and admire it. As a vintage rug, it is 45 years old, but since it was originally a bag, it doesn't show much wear. There are no noticeable stains or damage, and no repairs are visible, making it in good condition.
