This is the third installment in the plant-dyed series, a silk stole dyed with Kyoho grape skins. The skins of dark purple Kyoho grapes were washed and frozen until a large quantity had accumulated, then boiled all at once for dyeing. Alum was used as the mordant. When dyed, the color was light purple, but it settled to gray after washing and drying. Please understand that this is a handmade item created by an amateur. The size is approximately 158 cm in length and 40 cm in width. The fabric has a paisley pattern. It's quite long, so it's more suitable for autumn and winter. Because the fabric has a sheen, it can appear silver or charcoal gray depending on the angle. Please enjoy the color variations depending on how you tie it.
