1976 model. This is a Hummingbird Custom CE-600 made by Tokai Gakki. (See photo 14) It's a guitar from the so-called "Japan Vintage" era. This guitar was ordered by the now-defunct legendary Yanagiya Gakki store in Ueda City, Nagano Prefecture, and is the same specification as the Cat's Eyes CE-600 model. (See photos 4, 11) The owner of Yanagiya Gakki was very close to Tokai Gakki, and they ordered and sold guitars under the "Hummingbird" brand, which was used before the "Cat's Eyes" brand started in '76. (See photos 3, 4) This is a rare guitar with a small production number from a local musical instrument store. It seems that only the CE-600, 800, 1000, and 1200 models were sold. (See photos 11, 12) The truss rod turns left and right. The round head shape and neck block seen in old Tokai Gakki guitars can be confirmed on this instrument. As it is an old guitar, there are some scratches, dents, and clouding on the top and back (see photos 6-8), but it is in good condition considering its manufacturing year. Also, there are minor scratches on the back of the neck at the 7th and 10th frets that are not noticeable during play. (See photo 5) The pegs are valuable USA-made Grover pegs. The string height is low, and the playability is outstanding. The CE-600 from this period is carefully made and sounds amazing. Due to the above conditions, please refrain from purchasing if you are a nervous person. The body will be protected and shipped in a hard case, packed with air cushions (bubble wrap).
