This is a wooden antique vermilion lacquered octagonal hand-held water jar (mizusashi) made by Soga Arai, a tea ceremony utensil. Mizusashi - I believe it is unused, but due to long-term storage, I'm listing it as "near new." There are no noticeable scratches or stains. The item is in very beautiful condition overall. The original box has some slight scuffs. The string on the original box has some slight stains.
