Thank you very much for viewing. This is a Taisho Roman-style long haori with a gorgeous appearance. The fabric, a purplish-pink color with a non-uniform, muted tone, features a bold maple leaf pattern. Within the maple leaves, the well-known "twisted plum" motif is placed. The various sizes and colors of the twisted plums have a classic, appealing charm unique to Japanese patterns. ⭐︎Twisted Plum The twisted plum is a design that resembles twisted plum petals. It has been used in kimonos and other items since ancient times as a symbol of good fortune. As the plum blossoms bloom first in the cold spring, they represent strong vitality. The character for "plum" (梅) is also associated with "giving birth" (産む), symbolizing the prosperity of descendants and the pure, clean feeling of the plum. While I cannot accurately determine the historical period, I believe this item is from around the Taisho or early Showa era, based on the bold design and the texture of the fabric, which is not found in modern times. (I was told this when I purchased it.) The fabric feels smooth and light. When I purchased it, I was told it was meisen (a type of silk fabric), but the texture is slightly different from the tightly woven, smooth feel of meisen. It has a slightly rougher, thinner feel. Considering the fabric, I believe this item can be worn from the time you wear a single-layered kimono, excluding the peak of summer and the dead of winter. Regarding the material, the outer fabric feels like silk, but I cannot say for sure, so I will leave it as unknown. The lining fabric appears to be silk. There are spots on the long haori, but it comes with a valuable, wide haori string (with stains) from that time. The condition includes creases from long-term storage, and as shown in photos 13 and 14, there are spots and stains throughout. There is no impact on the outer fabric, but there are also stains on the lining. There appear to be no major noticeable scratches or tears. Please note that I will not iron out the creases from long-term storage and will deliver the item as is.
