This is a set of 9 red chisels for metal engraving. This is a set of chisels essential for the basics of engraving. You can handle basic pattern practice with this set. From left: Hairline chisel, blade width 1.0mm Hairline chisel, blade width 1.5mm Round chisel, blade width 1.6mm Single-cut chisel, blade width 2.0mm Single-cut chisel, blade width 2.4mm Roughing chisel, striking surface 1.5mm x 1.8mm Sharp punch chisel Claw-setting flat chisel, striking surface 1.4mm x 1.7mm Round punch chisel, tip 1.1mmØ These are formed and polished from commercially available red chisels. Hairline, round, and single-cut chisels are hardened and tempered. Hairline, round, and single-cut chisels have a slight R (curve), making them suitable for curved engraving. You can engrave straight lines with chisels for curves, but it is difficult to beautifully engrave curves with straight-line chisels that do not have an R. Please refer to the 8th image sample for the engraving marks of hairline, round, and single-cut chisels. Please refer to the images from the 9th image onwards for examples of how to use the following chisels. ★Roughing chisel... This chisel is used to roughen the surface of the metal by hammering it into a textured finish. Use the flat chisel's striking surface, and hammer it with the sharp punch chisel to create fine irregularities. Please refer to image 9 ②. There is also a method of roughening by hammering on a medium or coarse diamond brick. ★Sharp punch chisel... This chisel is used to create new irregularities when the roughing chisel becomes dull. It is hardened. If it chips, anneal it, sharpen it with a file, and then harden it for use. Please refer to image 10. ★Claw-setting flat chisel... This chisel is used to gather the claws, which are gathered from all sides with hairline engraving, in the center when making flower buds, etc. Please refer to images 9 ④ to ⑤. After gathering, cover with a mill chisel and hammer to round it. *Please purchase a commercially available mill chisel (nanako chisel). In image 9 ⑥, mill chisel No. 22 is used. *It can also be used for small bezel settings. ★Round punch chisel... This chisel is used to create round indentations in the metal. When used inside lines engraved with a hairline chisel, it creates more beautiful continuous punch marks. Please refer to image 11. *It can also be used to prevent drill holes from wobbling. You can use these as they are, but the blade tips will become dull and difficult to engrave with use.
