The LINE 800 trombone by the now-defunct West German company HUTTL is a common and well-circulated model. It's a trombone with a very beautiful sound. I was captivated by the LINE 800 and, wondering "what kind of sound does it make?", I acquired one and was instantly charmed after just one blow. I was entrusted with a difficult solo at the Ribbon Jazz Orchestra's 3rd Concert on August 24, 2025, and it was a perfect match for the song's image, so I decided to use it for the performance. https://youtu.be/BwC2_ZV5b9w?si=fszuv0sCX3ukqy7w This particular instrument is characterized by reddish-brown rust (tape residue) on the gooseneck, and I used this instrument for all the songs on stage, so you should be able to confirm it in the photos. There's no problem playing it, but I'm a detail-oriented person, so I feel like the tip of a needle is slightly touching (it's undetectable with cream). Also, as you can see from the original case for transport, one side of the bell is covered in scratches (the other side is fine). It seems it was used for many years without any protection. As you can see in the photos, the surface condition is poor. Also, the spit valve cork is bad, and I couldn't get a repair shop to fix it because they were busy, so I made a temporary fix (applied soft black rubber that can be peeled off with your fingernail) and used it for the performance. It can be used in its current condition, but repair is recommended. In any case, it's well-used, but I don't feel any deterioration in the sound. It's definitely for professionals, and you need at least the skill to play the LINE 800, but the sound is in the 10x price range. I liked it so much that I wanted a better-conditioned instrument, and I was able to get one before the concert, so I'm putting this one up for sale with the hope that the LINE 1000's capabilities will be widely known, along with a demonstration.
