BOCH was founded in 1748 by François Boch in the Lorraine region of present-day France. With the support of the Austrian Habsburg family, it grew to be a royal purveyor, being granted the title of Royal. Later, from the late 19th century, it became Boch Frere Keramis (BFK), and the BOCH stamp was used.
