In fact, this canvas is surprisingly more expensive than cowhide. The thong uses "horsehair" made from the mane and tail hair of horses. This natural fiber, also used in violin bows, combines suppleness and tension, allowing for a cool feel throughout the year, not just in summer. The inside is filled with plenty of cotton, gently cradling the toes. Hemp is mixed into the thong cord, making it less likely to loosen and maintaining a long-lasting, stable fit.
