This is a miniature suzuribako (writing box) set of "Shippo" (cloisonné) craft lacquerware. The suzuribako features a lacquerware design with plum blossoms and fan motifs. Inside, it contains a suzuri (inkstone), sumi (ink stick), and a mizusashi (water dropper), but no brushes. This is a used item, as it was stored by an amateur during a decluttering process.
