This item was purchased from Ichikawa. It is an aizome (indigo-dyed) yusan-bako (picnic box). It is made from Tokushima cedar, dyed with indigo, and finished with beeswax. The indigo-dyed wood grain is beautiful. There is no box or instruction manual. It is the perfect size for packing a single person's meal. Due to the nature of aizome, the color may transfer, so you cannot put food directly into the box. You will need to use methods such as placing a wrap or using small plates.
