The name Rokubei Shimizu is a distinguished name that has been passed down from the Edo, Meiji, Taisho, Showa periods to the present day. The sixth head of the family, like his predecessor, became a member of the Japan Art Academy, and the Shimizu family became the first to be recognized as a Person of Cultural Merit. Each volume contains a page with a photograph of a work. This item was purchased by my father-in-law, who was an art enthusiast. Despite being several decades old, it is in good condition with only slight staining. I believe he only purchased it and never used it.
