The dignified and proud appearance of the officers and soldiers of the time, neatly dressed in their military uniforms, conveys a sense of dignity, pride, and the spirit of the Japanese people. From the background architecture, the sentry, the swords and medals they hold, to the handwritten names and perhaps unit names, everything is a "living record" that conveys the times to the present.
