This is a SD size kimono (furisode set). When I was into dolls, I had someone who does Japanese tailoring make this so that even someone unfamiliar with human kimono could dress the doll. It is made from various materials such as antique silk fabrics used in human kimono. The seams on the sleeves are proof of hand-sewn tailoring, which of course also exists in human kimono. Hiyoku tailoring is a method of tailoring that makes it look like two kimonos are layered. Only the sleeve openings, the swing, the collar, and the hem are double-layered by sewing on a fabric called hiyoku-ji. Antique fabrics are purchased in various ways, such as scraps, bolts of fabric, kimono from the market, stores, events, and disassembled kimono, and old scraps may have joints where there are cuts. Since I don't buy new fabric at stores, the manufacturing conditions vary. Please refrain from purchasing if you are concerned. Made with an industrial sewing machine and hand-sewing.
