Tosa Uchihamono Kurotori Forging Around the beginning of the Meiji era, the first Heiji Kajiwara moved from Kurotori Village, Aki County, Tosa (present-day Kurotori, Aki City, Kochi Prefecture) to Higashimatamura, Takaoka County (Hondo, Shimanto Town), and founded a forging workshop. Since then, for over 130 years, it has been passed down through Takeji and Shikame, and now the fourth generation, Teruo Kajiwara, and the sixth generation, Hiroshi Kajiwara, are working to manufacture a wide variety of blades for forestry, agriculture, hunting, and household use. As a wild blacksmith that has continued for over a hundred years, they forge and create various products every day. At the Kurotori Forging Factory, they basically handle everything from forging to forming, hardening, and polishing.
