The great designer Tapio Wirkkala spent a large part of his career at Iittala, a versatile artist who created nearly 400 works during his more than 40 years with Iittala. Among his most famous works is Ultima Thule, inspired by the melting ice of Lapland. Thousands of hours were spent perfecting the blowing technique required to create this unique surface. It is this long process and the soul of the craftsman that are reflected in the product, making it a one-of-a-kind design.
