Purchased over 30 years ago. ■ Product Features Beast-knob carving (lion): The figure of a valiant parent lion and a playful cub is vividly expressed. Lions are symbols of warding off evil and protecting sacred areas in China, and the parent-child image is a lucky pattern that conveys the wish for the prosperity of descendants and the growth of strong boys. It is a very auspicious motif. Seal material: High Mountain Freeze Usage: Originally a material for tenkoku (seal carving) to make seals (rakkan-in), it is also ideal for displaying as an ornament in a study or entrance. Condition: There are no noticeable scratches or chips, but please forgive any dirt or minor scratches due to aging, as it is an old item. The bottom (seal surface) is unengraved.
