Founded in 1899, they began producing their first wristwatch, the "200 series," in 1957. However, the factory ceased operations due to damage from the Ise Bay Typhoon in 1959. Subsequently, the company was absorbed by Ricoh, a tragic fate for a watchmaker. Despite possessing technology comparable to Seiko and Citizen, they only manufactured wristwatches for about five years, earning Takano the title of a "phantom manufacturer." This item is a "Takano Chateau." Furthermore, it is a very rare "WATER PROOF 6000" model with waterproof specifications, of which few were produced. The watch material is stainless steel, and the crystal is plastic. The case back is a screw-type, with a structure that tightens the case back with an outer ring. Also, the engraving of a Nagoya shachihoko (mythical fish with a tiger's head) can be seen on the case back. It has an elegant design with the "Chateau" logo in cursive. Condition: Has scratches.
