This is a tashuur (whip) like the ones in the illustrations for "Suho's White Horse." It's been over 15 years. I fell in love with the Mongolian grasslands and have visited four times. On my third visit, a horseman I knew made this for me right in front of me, using materials he had in his ger. The materials are only wood and leather. In the second-grade Japanese language textbook, "Suho's White Horse," the people riding horses are holding the same thing.
