I am selling these items to organize my collection. Tenryu Satsuma Boxwood Nishiki-ki Moriage Shogi Pieces Includes 41 shogi pieces (plus one extra pawn) and the flat box shown in the images. The shogi board is not included. These are Tenryu's Satsuma Boxwood Nishiki-ki Moriage pieces, made by a carver from Tendo. Tenryu is a rare carver who can carve shogi pieces without using letter paper, a technique known as sukashi-bori. He was selected as a Contemporary Master Craftsman in 2018. He is also well-known as the teacher of the genius komashi (shogi piece craftsman) Ryuji Kodama. Tenryu's moriage pieces are also in the possession of the Japan Shogi Association and are valuable pieces that have been used many times in professional shogi title matches. Although these are new and unused, they are still considered second-hand items. There may be some minor scratches, scuffs, and stains from the time of purchase. Please only purchase if you understand that these are used items.
