A powerful wooden Noh mask with a beard, perfect for stage performance. This is an Akujo mask, created by Norifusa Sugawara, a well-known contemporary Noh mask maker. He was a friend of my father, who passed away last year. This mask was one of several that my father purchased or received and displayed in a glass cabinet in our living room. I understand that when Norifusa held exhibitions, my father, a carpenter, even made and provided frames for the displays. There is some minor soiling and a small paint chip on the tip of the nose. While the condition isn't perfect, there are no other noticeable scratches or damage besides the aforementioned. Please check the photos provided.
