Han (Shi Kien), a powerful figure in Hong Kong's underworld, hosts a martial arts tournament to which martial artists from around the world are invited. Williams (Jim Kelly) and Roper (John Saxon) from America receive invitations and head to Hong Kong. Meanwhile, a young man named Lee (Bruce Lee), who is training in martial arts at the Shaolin Temple, is asked by the secret intelligence agency to participate in the tournament and investigate Han's smuggling activities. Lee initially refuses, but after hearing from the Abbot that Han was once a Shaolin monk but is misusing his martial arts knowledge, and that his sister was killed by Han's henchman O'Hara years ago, he accepts the secret intelligence agency's request and decides to participate in the tournament.
