This is a one-sho (approx. 1.8 liters) masu (wooden measuring box) used at the Saigai Inari Temple in Okayama during the Setsubun bean-throwing ceremony, where lucky men (fuku-otoko) throw beans. (One go, or about 180ml, fits ten times in this box.) It's old, with some sun fading, scratches, and stains, but that adds to its character. Thank you for looking.
