I found this while sorting through my husband's family home, which is over 150 years old. It's an antique metalwork kanzashi (hairpin) with a peony design. I believe it's from the Meiji to Taisho era. The peony flower is three-dimensional, created using the hirauchi and dashi techniques, and is very delicate and beautiful. However, there is some verdigris in places. I wonder if the material is copper or brass? It has the charm of age that is unique to antiques. Would this be of interest to those who are researching techniques or collecting such items?
