At the time, gold-leaf decoration was not highly regarded, and Mr. Mitsumasa Wada, feeling frustrated, reflected on past masterpieces and worked tirelessly to improve his gold-leaf techniques. He aimed for gold-leaf decoration that could rival past masterpieces created solely with gold-leaf, and that could withstand the steaming and washing processes of Yuzen dyeing. With quiet pride, he named it "Kin-sai Yuzen," and it is now known as the "Orchestra of Light - Kin-sai Yuzen."
