Artist: Sugar Babe Album: SONGS 50TH ANNIVERSARY EDITION Brand new, unused To commemorate Tatsuro Yamashita's 50th anniversary, Sugar Babe's masterpiece album is being reissued on vinyl! This work is the only album released on April 25, 1975, by Sugar Babe, a Japanese pop band consisting of Tatsuro Yamashita, Taeko Ohnuki, Kunio Muramatsu, Mikio Wanigawa, and Akihiko Noguchi (later joined by Ginji Ito, Jiro Terao, and Hiroshi Uehara). In 1972, Tatsuro Yamashita and Taeko Ohnuki formed the band and began performing mainly in live houses in Tokyo. In April 1975, they released their only album, "Songs," as the first release on Eiichi Ohtaki's Niagara label. The refreshing harmonies centered around Yamashita and Ohnuki's vocals, and the pop sound that followed the flow of American pop, had an evergreen brilliance, but it was not understood in the music scene at the time, and the band disbanded in April 1976.
