Purchased in Sweden about 30 years ago and displayed in a curio cabinet, I'm sadly parting with it due to lack of space. This is a dolphin sculpture by Mats Jonasson, a famous Swedish glass artist. Features and details are as follows: It uses a technique called "reverse intaglio," where the engraving is done on the reverse side of the crystal, appearing three-dimensional when viewed from the front. The material is high-quality lead crystal. It was made in his studio in Målerås, and is characterized by the very detailed expression of the animal's skin texture and facial features. It can be enjoyed as a display piece or used as a paperweight. I believe it is in good condition, but it is a used item, so please refrain from purchasing if you are concerned.
