This is a hand-knitted wool hat purchased 20 years ago at a local market in a minority ethnic group village in Yunnan Province, China. It's for children. Please refer to the photos for the size. Roughly speaking, it's about the size of a roll of tape. It was hand-knitted by an elderly woman from a minority ethnic group. (Please refer to the last photo for a picture of the purchase at the local market) The design is a cute Chinese hat style. It's cute just to display, but I think it would also be cute on a stuffed animal. It has been stored in a costume box without being used. There are no moth-eaten holes or stains. The pom-pom on top is just a bundle of cut yarn tied together with thread. It tends to come loose, so you might want to secure it with thread. There is a string to hang around the neck, which is inserted into a hole on one side. The end of the string is frayed. (It might have been like that originally?)
