This product prevents noise when plugging and unplugging guitar and bass plugs using an internal switching system. It automatically mutes (shorts) the instrument (guitar) cable, preventing popping sounds and squealing when replacing instruments (guitars) under load. The built-in silent switch is based on REED technology and guarantees a lifespan of over 1,000 mating cycles. *Please refrain from using with equipment that emits strong magnetic fields (e.g., amplifiers).* The Silent Plug automatically shorts the internal switching system when the plug is removed, even when connected to a guitar amplifier, preventing noise.
