Pure Silk Width: Approximately 31cm Length: Approximately 440cm This is an antique fukuro obi featuring a slightly muted young green and ochre gradient, with a design of Ichimegasa (a type of hat), plovers, and autumn leaves and chrysanthemum flowers rendered in dye and embroidery. Japanese embroidery and gold thread embroidery are carefully applied to the otaiko (back of the obi) and maedare (front of the obi). The embroidery of the white, irregular chrysanthemum petals is particularly exquisite, making you want to gaze at it for a long time. It appears to have been remade from a maru obi (round obi), and has a pattern stop like a rokutsu fukuro obi (six-panel fukuro obi). It has plenty of length, so it seems easy to tie for an antique piece. Purchased from an antique kimono shop in Tokyo.
