This is a Wajima-nuri lacquerware bowl. It is a piece with elegant chrysanthemum chinkin maki-e (gold inlay) on a refined black lacquer base. The design is luxurious and splendid, combining the delicately carved chrysanthemum chinkin with chrysanthemum maki-e using colored lacquer.
