I was using this in my car, but the cigarette lighter power adapter broke, and I can no longer use it. I was able to confirm power on using a Micro-USB cable for testing. I will also include this cable. I think it should be fine since I was using it, but there may be compatibility issues with different power supplies (I think it should be fine with the original).
