I found this at my grandmother's house. It's a very heavy, substantial maru obi (full obi). There are some stains here and there → Photos 5-8. It shows its age, but it's relatively clean for an old item, and it doesn't look like it was worn much. I thought that maybe I could cleverly hide the stains and wear it, but since it's this kind of obi, I think it would be paired with something very formal like a furisode or tomesode, so I probably wouldn't have many opportunities to wear it in the summer. The length is also short at 415cm, so how about using the patterned part for remaking? As shown in Photo 3, the pattern is the same, but it's repeated with the direction changed. There are drums, fans, and autumn grasses and insects inside the fans.
