Thank you for viewing. This is a mizusashi (water container) I purchased at an antique market. I was drawn to its refined elegance, characteristic of Kyo-yaki (Kyoto-style pottery), and brought it home. Everything is well-balanced in its design. There's nothing to fault. The condition isn't perfect; there are two cracks in the body of the container. One is deep, running from the rim almost to the bottom. I enjoyed it as a decorative piece, so it wasn't a problem, but it might be difficult to use as a mizusashi. If you were to do kintsugi (gold repair), it might be best to break it completely first. There's also a crack and a chip about 1 cm long on the rim of the lid. The chip is right on the red line of the lid's edge, so it's not very noticeable. Since there are some imperfections, it might be interesting to use it as a plant pot cover or a container for other items without worrying about it.
