After divorcing, she graduated from Toyo Eiwa Girls' School in 1910. During this time, she entered the tanka society Takekashi-kai, hosted by Nobutsuna Sasaki. In 1911, she married Den'emon Ito, a coal mine magnate in Kyushu, but in 1921, she eloped with Ryusuke Miyazaki, a socialist, attracting public attention as the "Hakuren Incident." After the war, she was involved in the peace movement. She was a cousin of Emperor Taisho.
