This is a set of three sometsuke (blue and white) porcelain pieces. The plates are approximately 15.5cm in diameter and feature what appears to be an inban (stencil-printed) "yoroke" (wobbly) pattern. It seems that kiln sand is attached to the foot. Also, there appear to be stains on the glaze and some warping in the shape. Furthermore, there are small, bumpy marks on the surface of the plates, as if sand had been blown onto them. I have determined that these are not chips. The item in the middle of the photo appears to be a small "namasu-zara" (vinegared dish). It has a butterfly in the center and a floral design around it. The amber glaze edging is stylish, and the outside is also decorated with a neat arabesque pattern. I found a very small chip on the inside of the foot. The smallest piece is believed to be a tier from a small jubako (tiered food box). It has a hand-painted design of flowers and something else, the name of which I have forgotten. There is a glaze flake about the size of an adzuki bean on the foot. I believe all of these items are from an old era, and I personally appreciate the imperfections that come with their age. Inspection was done by eye. I try to be careful, but as I am an amateur inspector, please forgive any oversights. Please refrain from purchasing if you are concerned about these points.
