This is a discontinued Sabian AA Rocktagon 18-inch cymbal. It's an effect crash cymbal with an explosive sound, different from China or trash-type crash cymbals. Regarding my repairs: If a crack is stopped only with a drilled hole, the crack's cross-section will make contact, causing a buzzing noise, and the sustain and tone will be lost. Since it won't sound right, you'll end up hitting it hard and ruining it quickly. For practical use, cutting the crack is often the best result. During processing, I use a scope to remove even the roots of cracks that are not visible to the naked eye, to prevent recurrence. The processed surface is smoothly shaped and polished.
