Jitsujo-ji Temple (also known as Tamon-ji Temple) of the Tendai sect, a temple commemorating the soul of Matabei Goto A temple dedicated to Matabei Goto, a valiant warrior who served Kuroda Kanbei and Toyotomi Hideyori. He was one of the "Twenty-Four Knights of Kuroda" led by Kuroda Kanbei, and also one of the "Five Heroes of Osaka" during the Summer Siege of Osaka. It is said that in the second year of Genna (1616), Matabei's son, Taro Masakata, received a land donation from the Iwamoto Kanbei family of Ozaki Village to mourn his father who died in the Summer Siege of Osaka, and the temple was founded on the first anniversary of Matabei's death (May 6th). Matabei Goto's memorial tablet is enshrined in the main hall. Tamon-ji Temple was built to mourn the father and son of Matabei Goto, a Sengoku warlord and one of the "Five Heroes of Osaka Castle," who has also appeared in historical dramas.
