Thank you for viewing. This is a hand-embroidered cloth from the Hmong people. This type is a part of a woman's apron. This piece was purchased about 30 years ago at the Hmong morning market in Chiang Mai, northern Thailand. I can still picture them hand-embroidering, singing folk songs of their homeland, while carrying their children on their backs. They are very cheerful and strong people. And kind. I was often treated kindly and ended up staying longer than I intended. As a side note, the Hmong people often brought Isan cuisine for lunch, such as khao niao (steamed sticky rice), gai yang (grilled chicken), and som tam pu (spicy papaya salad with pickled crab). I loved it and often joined them. I remember it like yesterday. It was a nostalgic time. Material: Cotton Size: Length approx. 48.5cm, Width approx. 8.5cm Washing: Most of the fabrics I sell use natural dyes, so there may be some color fading. However, the color will not completely disappear, so please rest assured. The color will settle into a nice, subdued tone after a few washes.
