This is an early model of the highly renowned Conn Wonder. It is in miraculously playable condition. It has several distinctive features, such as eye-catching engravings and streamlined tubing connecting the valves. Manufactured in 1888, 137 years ago. This instrument was made about two years after the Wonder was first introduced, making it a very early model. The shape of the valve casings and the design of the various branch pipe caps differ from later models. While the airtightness isn't perfect, it is still playable. It is characterized by a crisp, pure sound. It has a rather bright and lively tone. It is unlacquered. A rather heavy oil is recommended. Mouthpieces from Yamaha and Denis Wick can be used, but only just. It has a cornet shank, not a trumpet shank. The bell has been repaired by a repairman. There are countless small dents, but the larger ones have been fixed. The second valve slide's water key is missing. Includes Bb and A leadpipes. Mute, lyre, mouthpiece, cleaning rod (not in the photos, but inside the case), and the original leather case are included. The original owner's name is inscribed.
